art and dine — sounds fine
Jackie Abramian is turning a new knob at Haley Farm Gallery, in Kittery, Maine. "It's an Art & Dine series. It's education, entertainment, getting involved and getting into discussion, hopefully," says Abramian. "And food is always a form of art."
First up is March 19, spring equinox, "also the day Persian Iranians celebrate their New Year. That's why we chose it," she adds. Abramian will cook for the first event. "Obviously there is no Persian restaurant around, so I'll be doing it, using my mom's recipes." ($30 tix).
Abramian hopes to involve different eat local food organizations and area restaurants in upcoming events. "If it's successful, I hope to hold one a month with different topics. ...; We'll learn from the first one. haleygallery@comcast.net, (207) 439-7612.
